The canyons around Montpellier are great ! Canyoning consist to walk down a narrow canyon in the river bed. During the descent, you will wear a wetsuit and learn various climbing technics (loweroff) to overcome the difficulties (waterfall, steep slope).

The Devils’ canyon near Montpellier
The devils’ canyon is a narrow gorge located in the Herault river downstream the village of Saint-Guilhem le Désert, next to the Clamouse caves.
This canyon around Montpellier is aquatic, easy and very playful. You will face obstacles: optional jumps, zip-line, abseil down, hand-line and obviously swimming. Enjoy swimming, having fun, desire cooling ? This canyon is made for you. It is also a perfect choice to begin with canyoning.

The Tines canyon: the perfect canyon for beginners in the Cevennes mountain.
Canyon description
The Tines canyon is located in the Cevennes Mountain near the Mont Aigoual and the National park. It is few kilometer before reaching Valleraugue. It is the perfect canyon for beginners in a gorge carved by a tributary of the Herault river. The water is clear and cool, the area is very quiet and wild. You will enjoy this canyon with small waterfalls, few jumps and natural toboggans.

The Tapoul canyon
The canyon of the Tapoul is located in the Cevennes area next to the Mont Aigoual. You will walk and swim in a narrow and steep gorge carved by the Tapoul river. The atmosphere is unbelievable ! It is a well featured canyon for people who love sport. During the descent you will face technical jumps (until 9 meter high), natural toboggans and waterfalls.
